Confirmed touring dates/events March/April 2012

We have locked in some events with firm times and venues now. All of these will require you to kindly register your interest with the host as numbers are often limited due to space and for catering in some instances. I have included names of people to talk with, contact numbers and email addresses. Phone if it’s easy or belt off a quick email and let the organiser know that you may be interested to come along. The bigger centres, such as Marion Arts, can take up to 200 people, I know, but Jenny Newman will fill that auditorium quickly, I promise, so please book early.

It’s wonderful and important to support your local bookstore. Putting on events and enticing publishers and authors to visit requires huge commitment and investment from the owners, so I urge you to help keep you local bookstore ticking along by getting along to this event they’re putting on. The best fun about writing a book is meeting its readers so I will enjoy saying hello and having a chat with you if you can come along to the events. At some I’ll do a formal talk, at others I’ll be in conversation with a host, and perhaps there will be others where we’ll just have a chat. Whatever the format is, it will be a lovely chance for someone like me who works mostly in isolation to meet the people she writes for….and I’m especially grateful for your time.

    Hi Fiona,
Congratulations on the publishing of The Lavendar Keeper. It seems only yesterday that you were talking about it with us at the Hobart Fantasy workshop, that my writing colleague, Shirley Patton and I from Launceston attended late last year.
Great to hear that you’re coming to Launceston on 11 April to promote it. I look forward to seeing you and obtaining a copy.
I sincerely appreciate the inspiration I gained from attending your workshop and your generous encouragement, and I have been writing assiduously ever since.
You might recall that Shirley and I were co-authoring a young adult fantasy novel and the good news is that we’ve just finished the first draft – whew!

    Regards

    Michael

    Dear Fiona,
and we are really looking forward to hosting you at Fullers in Hobart on April 12th! Tasmania’s have a particular passion for books about Tasmania – and we’re intrigued with what came before – in this case, preceeding Bridestowe – in this case the wartime streets of Paris and Provence!
