Workshops in August 2011

My thanks to Nigelle Ann Blaser who has organised a fantastic weekend workshop in the Clare Valley mid-August and managed to book it out nearly three months ago!  Wow…and thanks to all of you who have been writing to tell me you’re counting the sleeps – now that’s keen and I am loving this enthusiasm.  We are going to have a wonderful weekend of creativity, sharing and learning.  I plan for each of you to walk away feeling more confident about your writing and certainly inspired. See you soon.

The Hobart Masterclass is booked out.  Good grief, that was quick.  My thanks to the Tasmanian Writers Centre for the speedy work and thank you to all the writers who raced to get their name down.  I will look forward to seeing you all at the end of this month and cracking the whip!

I believe the Canberra Masterclass on Saturday, August 27 may have a couple of positions still available but please hurry.  I don’t want anyone to be disappointed.

Melbourne Masterclass date will be announced soon.  We’d tried to get it organised for early October but I’m the fly in the ointment there as I’m on a manic writing schedule now so it looks like the Victorian Writers Centre will arrange this for early in 2012 and I will keep you posted.

      Hi Andrea

Would you believe this weekend in the Clare Valley? But I do know it’s been booked solid for months so that’s no good to you – I’m really sorry. After that I’ve got Masterclasses in Canberra, Hobart and Melbourne but currently nothing locked in workshop-wise in this neck of the woods, in the forseeable future. But I do promise to promote nice and early when the next one comes up in SA.

Sean, I think we all did. What a brilliant group you were and the collective talent is fabulous. Thanks again for being so easy to work with. Now write your contract and off you go!

Just wanted to say thanks for a great weekend at the workshop. It was lovely to meet you and the great group of other writers who attended. I had a really good time! Also, loving Royal Exile :)

It was my pleasure. I had a great time with you all and I’m sure we’ve discovered at least one soon to be published novelist! I wonder who that might be?
      Keep enjoying Royal Exile!

    Hi Fiona,
    Been a while.
Do you have a Sydney Masterclass?
If so, when is the next one up?
    Thanks,

    Axel.

Hi Axel, great to hear from you. I believe I’m down for Melbourne sometime next year but nothing in the wings planned for Sydney yet but I imagine it will happen through the new Writing Australia initiative, and I promise to let you know. Hope you’re well and happy? Time I visited Sydney anyway! Will be there in April on tour for the new historical fiction but the next adult fantasy will be a bit later in the year – September/October probably so at least two trips in the pipeline. All best, F

        Thank you Fiona!
I contacted Christine Lenton from Bryce Courtenay’s website to see if you two are going to do joint workshop or if was going to do another one on his own anytime soon.
Turns out he is on Doctor’s orders to be on his best behaviour, so I would assume it will be some time. Too bad…
Let me know if there are any alternatives you could recommend.
In the meantime I’ll read the historical saga (I hope that goes well) and look forward to catching up in Sydney.
Don’t forget to fit in some sleep somewhere. :)
        Thank you!
        Axel.
